ARLINGTON (from HS GameTime)--So often, Coppell’s offense gets the bulk of the credit for winning big games. For what its worth, the praise is warranted. But Saturday’s 5A Division I Region I area-round playoff against Plano East showed why Coppell’s underrated defense is ranked among the top 10 5A area teams. Coppell left Cowboys Stadium with a respectable 14-0 shutout victory and proved that it’s more than its 40 points and more than 400 yards of total offensive yards per game. Coppell (11-1) won by holding Plano East’s offensive unit in check.
