Attention current and incoming high school football players
The CHS Sports Medicine team is using the ImPACT Concussion Management Program this year for all CHS football players. CHS Sports Medicine will baseline test players prior to two-a-days practice: August 4th, 5th, and 6th. Because this cognitive evaluation is an important tool in determining readiness to participate after a head injury, this baseline testing has been approved by Coach McBride, and is mandatory.
As the importance of appropriate concussion management increases in awareness, the Coppell High School Sports Medicine program, in cooperation with Baylor Health Care Systems, is excited to offer ImPACT concussion testing FREE to each Coppell High School football player. ImPACT is an individualized, computer-generated neurocognitive exam. This tool quantifies head injuries with a highly sensitive measure of brain function testing; including such items as hand-eye coordination and reaction times. This system helps physicians and health care professionals determine the appropriate treatment protocol after a head injury.
